The May issue of Gentry contained a pleasant surprise. I don’t know how they did their research, but this was the first I saw of it.

It is heartwarming to see the sense of Noblesse oblige is still apparently alive and well.

All of us here at the Mavericks Civilian Space Foundation want to recognize and thank Steve and Karla Jurvetson for their backing of our organization to address the challenges our nation faces in dealing with the threat to our quality of life and technological and economic leadership, and national security because of the disengagement of our youth from the call to change the world through Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.
Both Steve and Karla have provided tremendous vision and leadership in helping us both start and keep our organization moving forward over the past 5 years.
Mavericks would never have happened without Steve and his entire families financial support and encouragement.I can not think of two people in Silicon Valley who deserve this recognition more. I hope that the students that we inspire and engage because of your support will change the world in ways we both could not even dream.
