Elder lion brothers sleeping together, a bonding experience.

About 7 years old, the peak of their prime.

Taken with a pocket camera, lit by a red search light so as to not awake them. Subsequent cuddling scenes below…

  4. wow!!! it is a serious risk-taking to be that close to so many large size kitties… great experience if humans are only participants, not food:) yep, they look sweeet and cudly being asleep… like kittens…

  5. Lions at night is pretty dangerous in an open vehicle.
    Try tracking a rhino on foot during the day.
    Mumbo camp is king of the cats.
    Abu’s does elephant back safaris.
    Check out the Namibian Skeleton Coast if you have the time.

  8. jonsmir1: Try tracking a rhino on foot during the day. Heh, just got back from tracking a territorial bull rhino by mountain bike. Five large rifle slugs for protection… =)

    And, yeah, saw 23 lions at Mumbo and 8 at Vumbura.
