What a fine year it’s been,
but the future’s so bright,
the Phoenix provides shade.

Happy New Years Y’all!

  1. Happy New Year, Steve!

I always enjoy your photos and commentary (and now poetry).
I like to think of the new year as having a rising sun.
Best wishes for the next year!

  2. Happy Phoenix to you too ; )

  4. From those of us who were in bed early due to small children (and another on the way in April), here’s to changing the world in 2011!!!!

  5. All the best for 2011…
Maybe the breakout year for electric vehicles…(!)
This is a very nice choice of images here.

  6. Nice – last shot of 2010 or first shot of 2011?

  7. Many points of interest in this unusual and beautiful picture.

  8. Did you see that Sun with that other "bird" in front of it, today ?

Woke up this morning with the hope to see the Eclipse. But the sky was full of clouds… So instead I discovered this amazing photo tonight. Perfect visual symphony to our spacefaring civilisation :

"The Sun Eclipsed by Earth and the International Space Station. There was a partial solar eclipse today. The Moon partly obscured the Sun, but photographer Thierry Legault found something else blocking a tiny bit of our home star’s light: The International Space Station." Gizmodo
