A stone path from 800 AD, leading to a look out spot for trading ships (they traded pearls). The sides are angled stone, like the pyramids, as are the nearby balcony terraces.

A temple mount to the right was for Quetzalcoatl, the feathered snake god (photo below). They adopted the story of Jesus and Mary as two additional gods, boy of the wind and young eagle mother respectively.

Toltec elders had four advisements to live properly:
• Be impeccable with your mouth (speak with integrity)
• Don’t take things personally
• Don’t make assumptions
* Always strive to do your best

Ah – they sounds like fine New Year’s resolutions for procrastinators like me.

The ruins are not marked at all as the hotel developers don’t want the government to get involved.

  1. Three steps signify a temple, this being the stone foundation:

    Temple Mount

  2. Very interesting!!! Buddhist’s basics are almost the same. The 4th noble truth talks in particular about how to live properly in this world.

Possibly means that all these are elemental, primal truths we all agree upon, regardless of the creed/philosophy/civilization/world-view you have. I can’t ever fail if you have them in mind and put to practice as much as possible….
