  1. Fast exposure time, so I’ll guess this shows a popping bubble in mud, but I have no idea where or how…

  12. Silver Hage: yes, a tantric unveiling… as P^2 saw burping mud within seconds of my posting no less (but volcanic gas is mostly not methane). And the flickr folk collectively converged to the correct answer. Msamaclean nailed the “what”, and AGrinberg got the “where”, at least county-wise, as Costa Rica.

    But Arenal is much bigger!

    It is burping boiling mud pot near Volcán del Rincón de la Vieja, with fetching signs that this mud bath is a bit harsh for a dip. Temperatures: 192 – 248°F

    Leino: tried not to get hot feet, but I had to jump the fence. =)
