yes, the sound was overwhelming, especially the collective subwoofer.
I had a wonderful dinner with the Neeme family of conductors last night. It was great to see him and Indrek from Estonia Piano by chance…. It felt like a small world indeed.
Gi – yes. and the Tusty’s are filming again. I’ll have to post a shot of them at work.
Wonderful photo! Memories of Tallin – a few years ago we docked in Tallin, Estonia on a cruise. But we, like most people, were too sick (from being seasick from the nighttime voyage from Stockholm to Estonia) that we didn’t get off of our ship to tour the city. I understand it’s a lovely city.
Did you survive rain and last till the very end on Laulupidu…Btw, I was one of the 100K people behind you…actually just few rows behind you 😉
Great photo!
I was right there, in front of the stage as well with my camera, but that was on the second day of the festival, on the first day in the rain I was at the back. And I have 13 hr of material from the Estonian song and dance festival. Good luck to your film crew, my film is probably similar, yet in a different key and rising different questions.
My Dad passed on Friday, and our friend Kari Kirk put together a wonderful video tribute to my Dad from our trip to the Estonian song festival in 2009. It shows how often my Dad would burst into song, often in multiple languages. Whenever he met someone from Sweden, for example, he would sing their national anthem in Swedish.
