For the first day of Spring, we brought drona out for his first day of mountain biking ever. Another road biker hooked upon first exposure… Like a kid discovering new candy.

I was delighted to see the lupine splashed across the hills. Next month, the wildflowers will bloom at the higher altitudes of our Skyline rides.

  1. So it that how they are called? They are flowering in my garden too! 🙂

  2. haha, now that was a good tag 🙂 nicely done, keep ’em coming!

  3. They’re called bluebonnets here in Texas. 🙂

  4. At first I *wanted* a mountain bike! Now I *NEED* one…

Thanks for all that persuasion…I am indeed hooked…that ride in the Arastradero Preserve was spectacular!

Thanks Dean, for loaning me the bike!

  5. It’s ever so cheerful!

  6. Ooommmmmmmm…..

That is a pretty area, nice shot.

  7. Zen-like, indeed. Beautiful tranquility!

  8. Ha, ha, so while you shared the fun of biking, Vas got you all to do some meditation among the lupins! It is a perfect exchange (real or not). I am glad you persuaded Vas to cycle through the hills and discover what mountain biking is like. What a great way to start Spring! Lucky you! This picture is really nice. The lupins/lupines looks so beautiful!

  9. Great to see Drona going joining the group!!! 😀

  10. GG 🙂

Well, Michelle, notice the vast difference in clothing between the experts and the neophyte…. It was jurvetson who suggested the pose, probably so I could cool off a bit!

  11. A little Lupin history and education for those who are not familiar with the significance of this wild flower and its impact on our society.

Robin Hood had nothing on this guy!

  12. Vas, I figured that it was you who indirectly "inspired" the idea of the pose anyway. No matter (I did say "real or not"), it was a good pose.

One cannot expect you to come as a guest and be entirely equipped and dressed for the sport. Maybe this will become a new leisure activity. A very speedy, risky and adventurous way to pass the time! Great fun, I am certain! Stay cool next time. 😉

  13. Lupines! I remember that Monty Python got very worked up about lupines….

( ah yes! I just saw the link above from rocketmavericks! great minds think alike!!!!! 😉
