A historical milestone in swarming robots, this is #24 of the 100 autonomous robots scurrying about the halls of SRI to survey and build a distributed map, and track intruders. They operated without centralized communication or control.

Seen at SRI this morning, as well as the new robots using electroadhesion to climb walls.

    Oh, I remembered that iRobot did a musical swarm about a year after this one:

  5. I’d only worry if after a long weekend, a quick count shows 200 scurrying about and looking saucy.
