at the risk of getting my numbers wrong, but in the interest of illuminating "scale": each strawberry cell’s dna strand ~ ten angstroms wide, ~ 1 meter long, ~800 mega bases (if i remember plant genome size correctly)…coiled up inside a nucleus between 3 and 10 micrometers wide, being transcoded in parallel at between 100 and several thousand locations depending on what operation the cell is performing…several billion cells. That strawberry is on the order of a billion-billion bases running probably in excess of a trillion ops per second while its alive…one heck of a chemical-super-computer. A la mode please.
