The long, hard path to reusable rocket boosters: six years ago today, we witnessed the big-bada-boom of the F9R test vehicle in Texas. Walking the field of wreckage, a fellow board member tried to cheer us up by quoting Henry Ford: “Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently.”
Elon’s retort: “Given the options, I prefer to learn from success.”
