“MYCELIUM COLONIES CAN BE TRULY HUGE
Thought to be the largest living organism ever found, a Honey Mushroom colony was discovered in Oregon in 2000 that is estimated to be around 2,400 years old and measured more than 3.5 miles in length. That’s longer than 188 Blue Whales combined!

MYCELIUM CAN ACT AS A CLEAN-UP CREW
A natural decomposer, mycelium breaks down organic material and even rocks to sustain itself, in the process removing chemicals and toxins from the substrate. This is also referred to as Mycoremediation.” β€” www.Grow.Bio and www.ecovativedesign.com

  2. Thanks for sharing such a fantastic topic. 3.5 miles is one very large organism.

MYCELIUM! Hero of the future generations! Communications expert of the plant world (Avatar style), soil remediator, new/old form of medicines, as well as source for recyclable & biodegradable materials for 3D printed products, durable building materials, environmental clean up, and then it can always be had for dinner too. They are so very unassumingly, and wonderfully …useful.

(Very nice coin. Where do you find such a coin? You should send one to Paul Stamets.

(What do you think? …In place of the Sicilian statement:
"A big man knows the value of a small coin" (as taken from the David Mamet movie "Things Change"),

..instead, …."A big man knows the value of a small fungi.")

The hemp is also very practical in similar ways, seeds are high in Omega fatty acids, very useful for strong roof thatching, good addition to cement, really great for long lasting, durable clothing – including denims,
