Happy Fourth of July… with a huge rocket launch
On Sunday at Mudrock, we launched Warped Reality on a N1560 moonburner. My 12 ft. tall fiberglass went supersonic to 19,441 ft. and deployed two parachutes by computer trigger to CO2 cartridges. The RF tracking beacon led us to her, a whopping 9 miles down range. VIDEO: https://youtu.be/Yel4dgY_ez4
For a sense of scale, with each letter grade marking a doubling of total impulse, this N motor is approximately similar to 1024 of those Estes D motors… =)
And here’s a little compilation of more Mudrock fun:

Thanks to Peter Thoeny for the photos of me, to Rocket Mavericks for the insanely high frame rate Phantom camera footage, to the 100K team for the Google Rail, to my launch support and recovery team (Dean Warshawsky, Doug, Sebastian Thrun, Peter and the boys) and for Aeropac for a fantastic launch event.
