This jet intake nose retracts 2.5 ft. as the plane comes up to speed — Mach 3. Cruising at 85K feet, it could fly over international waters and take sideways photos of military ports with a resolution capable of resolving license plates. It holds a loop of 2.5 miles of wide film in the belly.
A product of the Lockheed Skunkworks (named for the foul smell coming from the neighboring chemical plant).
