It sure looked like a ’57 Chevy, but noooo, the Soviets copied our chrome!

The bold letters WANKA across the hood was my clue… It’s actually Ча́йка or “Chaika” and this GAZ M13 version began production in 1959. It was available only to Soviet government officials, but average citizens could rent them for weddings.
