   In addition to being the Minister of Education, Voldemar was also head of the Tallinn Art School and an avid painter. Here are the photos I took of the paintings decorating our house with a taste of Estonia… (A section of this one also made the cover):
   Painted in 1943-44 looking from the Tammiku mansion stairs leading to the small lake (we have this hanging at the center of our house now).

   

   

   

   

   

   

   Last year in Estonia, they celebrated the 135th birthday of Voldemar Pats,
   sponsored by the Konstantin Pats Museum:

   From the left, my Mom, our friend Tarmo, then Anne (my Dad’s sister on her first visit to Estonia since they fled during the Russian occupation in WW II), Anne Velliste (the author of the book), Dad and Trivimi Velliste who was featured in The Singing Revolution film as a significant person in the liberation of Estonia and has since held various political positions.

   And here’s a 1938 Pats family photo from the book.

   I consider photography like painting with another means. It goes under the "painting vein" of my comment. 😉

   I found some fun photos in the books last night… even a section with me hugging my Great-Aunt Inna, and showing an attraction to rockets at an early age… =)
