To my dismay, I have just learned that flickr has effectively deleted a decade photoblog photos and turned my comments into gibberish. Having paid them to host my photoblog, I must say that to destroy the corpus purposely and knowingly (as part of a mostly useless UI update) is very irritating. ** UPDATE: this may change soon, so ignore my alarm for now, and if you are curious about what I mean when I say “effectively deleted”, I explain in the comments below.
Meanwhile, I guess I’ll have to try using Facebook for my photoblog, which is unfortunate because it does not support search or creative commons reuse. Here are the weekend rocket photos that I would have normally posted on flickr in an organized way.
