I found ‘er while cleaning out a rainwater drainage catch basin… and she was a hyperactive beauty, flickin’ her tail and making partial lunges at the camera. So I had to take a video.

  2. She is a beauty and I’m glad you were knowledgable enough about snakes not to hurt her.

  3. Tiny Scary Wow! Is it dangerous?
Cool video with the "sneaky stuff"! Thank you for sharing Sir Jurvetson!

  4. And a quick Google reveals that this gorgeous thing and its friends eat pit vipers, cottonmouths and the like. And make great pets, apparently. I like this snake a lot.

  5. I ate a rattlesnake in Colorado once and it tasted like chicken (almost everything does nowadays) and I consider myself neither bizarre nor awesome.

  6. Now, now, you are bizarrely awesome which is why you are humble.

ref. – The Matrix: " maybe the machines couldn’t figure out what to make chicken taste like, which is why chicken tastes like everything.”

I wonder if this relates to the rattlesnake imitation that I so poorly captured on film. It was doing the whole rattlesnake gig even though there is no rattle on the tail.

  7. [http://www.flickr.com/photos/24270806@N06] If you want to feel sorry for rattlesnakes be my guest <|;^) I’m more into sleeping kitten videos.

  8. Cool video Steve and brave kid. Brings me souvenirs from my own snake catching.
