I’m a bit blown away by all this…
IIT (the top technical university in India) ran a global competition in mathematics and computational programming today, open to all students and professionals in computer science.
So my son and a classmate discovered this, and the $2K of prize money, and decided to enter the contest last night as late entrants.
They took first place for the United States and tied for sixth place globally (“ZurfL” on HackerRank).
On the registration, he neglected to mention that he’s in elementary school.
