Glorious when powered up… something they won’t be able to show when moved to the museum.

  2. Wow. Thanks for posting these.

  3. Incredible:) "We must make this last endeavour
    Holding hands and thoughts together"…

  4. Magic machine – thanks for sharing all of this

  5. Beutiful poem by Boris Pasternak about human endeavours and passion (sorry in Russian):

  6. Beatiful Steve!!!!! WOOOWWWW!!!

  7. thanks y’all

Rafe – so many more to come! I have gone through about 5% of the day!

When Astronaut Ed Lu visited, he saw this early Apollo panel in the collection:

    Early Apollo Instrument Panels

He immediately recognized the bottom left DC INDICATORS dial: "It’s the same switch on the Shuttle!" They just keep reusing functionality, often with remnant switch positions that only made sense for Apollo.

  8. Wonderful shots, thanks for sharing!

  9. Wow, that’s a lot of controls! Your photo will be featured on April 30, with attribution, at Jigsaw Explorer. Thank you for making the photo available via Creative Commons licensing!

  10. aw, so pretty, hope someone at least took some vids of the glass cokpit fired up with all it’s numbers crunching

  11. Oh, yes, and better yet, it was filmed in 3D by my colleagues

  12. And who will get all the SHUTTLE ELECTRONICS tech support equipment? Probably left to languish in a NASA wharehouse and sold as scrap in a few years, somebody ought to keep track of these and grab ’em when they go on sale, and what of the simulators too?

  13. EveryScape has finished the stitching of my fisheye shots into a virtual tour. Before you start, remember to click the full screen button in the bottom right corner of the main image. Then you can click on the image and drag to look up down and all around. When you see an orange arrow, you can zoom to the neighboring room. OK, so here is the VR tour of Endeavour, starting with this Flight Deck.

And here’s a flickr post showing what the input images looked like for the flight deck and links to the other areas.
