Unveiling of the prototype build of the Model X SUV with Falcon-wing doors at the Santana Row store today. Think 800+ HP with two motors giving precise AWD, and better performance than a Porsche 911 Carerra… acceleration and handling… in a SUV that has a total cost of ownership less than a Ford Taurus.

This pre-screening was for customers who have already ordered a vehicle (I am in line for vehicle no.2 =)

Shooting with a fisheye lens allows for viewing of most of the interior, but warps the wide profile views. Nevertheless, here’s the video.

Without troubling to watch the video…I would be curious what Leno thinks of this car.
He has some ? 1900 electric vehicles.

  3. Everything you can want, in one vehicle. Just need to build a solar garage and I’ll be set.

  4. great effect with wide-angle trick!

  5. Cool car. Maybe a bit too much information/distraction inside for driver? Need to hook up with Google for self-driving capability.

  6. I forwarded your video link internally to the whole NVIDIA automotive team!

  7. How would it handle a week on the playa? DOes it have the range to make it, including the back-country trips and recovery operations, or is it strictly a city-slicker? Not for off-road application.

  8. We’ll have to give it a try. With two motors, it will have more torque and horsepower than any vehicle we have tried out there.

@philatkin – cool. Imagine a good image synthesis across the three rear cameras into one seamless image with no blind spots.

P.S. my buddy Bob just sent me his photo of me having fun
