I have seen many rockets this summer, and posted so many shots, that it must come to a close, with this compendium of Other People’s Rockets @ BALLS.

This backlit blast seemed the most artistic.

Several more below. And the earlier posts here.

  2. Nice set! Specially the first one… to be continued and thanks again for the great time at Balls XX!! Up, up and away again next year.

  3. How deep did that crater go? Must’ve had some velocity to bury the fins too…

  4. hot motor nozzle was about an arms’ length down. The fins sure held on well in this unplanned structural test!

  5. Nice shot (backlit exhaust, meandering tire tracks, framed by the outline of the mountain)

  6. Building a Mystery….
    (listening to now)

I like the main photo specially for the melody in the shapes it makes… if that makes any sense…

  7. Great compendium of stunning images! It is amazing to see how far the hobby has progressed since its early days…

  8. Nice that first shot is the most artistic. I expect to see in on a rocket rag soon enough.

  9. Reminds me of Robert Goddard, a friend of my grandparents in Worcester, MA.
My Grandma mentioned his rockets to me many times as I was growing up.
    His story is pretty interesting.

  10. Great series.
Wondering how that 3 stage job did…I like the look !

Goddard wrote a book or journal….I actually read it from the library in ? 1968…
Any idea where I could find this online,or even in print….?
    it seems to be hiding.

  11. Wow! Like the spiral one:) great reference to early days!

  12. A Grinberg,
Goddard’s diaries, journals and notebooks can be found here Over 48,000 pages scanned and available. If he wrote, it it is here. http://www.clarku.edu/research/archives/goddard/

  17. could not resist…..:)

  18. super compo, this one!

  19. Nice shots Steve. Also – good to see you again after all these years since Stanford 🙂

  20. This first, backlit shot is great! Nice series of images.

  21. Followed a google+ link to this shot, very impressed with what you do wow

  22. The Google+ link, from Robert Scoble, about this picture and Steve: plus.google.com/u/0/111091089527727420853/posts/gSoMWLfW2a1

    A delight.

  23. If google+ will be the only social media site which is not owned in full or partly by any mafia or any third party associated with it- i will join google+ as soon as "don’t be evil" flag will stay in place there… it essence. Is it too much to ask in this world…? Another rhetoric question…

  24. [http://www.flickr.com/photos/solerena] Who is John Galt? 😉

Google since a lot of time has tweaked their Don’t be Evil to Let’s take Over the World… since then my impressions of it changed in high proportion. However, as I am in facebook, I am there too. But it’s getting really boring this "million social networks" thing… and saturating and time consuming.

  25. !!!
…….also everyone rushing out for a break and staring at these little boxes….
    On the bus,in elevators…

  26. if only google will combine "don’t be evil" with let’s take over the world… i will go for it:) yep, social media can make us dream our life away – flickr is one great example… or twit our brain away on twitter… or facebook us to death with thousands of "friends" if the first two are not enough. Not sure what googleplus will do to us… good question, did not understand yet.
There are plenty of positive things associated with all social media.
