with our intrepid guides and a rhino delight.

And while we were away this afternoon, a pack of baboons broke through our front door (wood frame ripped off, and somehow slid a thin item through the latch), a first for this hotel, and trashed the whole room! All glassware broken, all fruit, soap (!) and minibar items raided. They really wanted the Pepto Bismol, and chewed through the plastic bottle. They threw items from the garbage into the toilet. A real Animal House party… They opened the plastic case and stole my son’s retainer (the only missing non-food-like-item)! Bizarre. Imagine a baboon sporting a retainer in his mouth looking so humano-cool.

  1. You’re getting some great shots! I know it sounds harsh but someone needs to write those baboons a strongly worded letter of reprimand!

  2. Loving these shots! as well, get any pics of the ‘trashed’ room?

  3. Thank God you had your camera gear with you…right?

  4. Yep, glad they did not feel like taking pictures… fantastic journey! Thank you for sharing.

  5. Yes, had the gear…. and also glad they did not have any interest in the laptops back in the room. I did wish that there was a security cam in the room to catch the show. I was real curious as to how it all played out.

[http://www.flickr.com/photos/crockett_photography/] – yeah, and with the front door break in, I wonder if it was an inside job. Who is providing them lock picking tools? =)

  6. Haha come one… that is SO sapiens sapiens, to blame our close relatives for our human-side ‘s party time !!! =P You should be ashamed and assume your crazy night !!!
The video would have been GOLD yes !!!

This remind me of the upcoming "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" ; )
