Some of the most colorful birds are easy to photograph because they perch at the outskirts of barren trees, looking like the lone fruit in the desolation for passing insects.

    Jao Camp and King’s Pool are good too. Try a day in a blind. We saw large herds of rare animals that way. You bring lots of food and wine and make a party of it. King’s Pool has an excellent blind.

    I’ve done several camps along the Zambezi in Zimbabwe but they are probably not accessible now. Saw seven leopards in a single day. Also went fishing for tigerfish and breem.
