  1. A philosopher might ask if it’s the monkey holding the leash or the man. Interesting image

  2. why are they unlucky? Oh, monkey is well-dressed:D not sure if snake is terribly happy… would not want to find out:)

  3. also noticed in the background… a python in a white bag and the elderly gentleman’s snake pot with requisite wooden flute placed on top (ref. red cloth). given what i know of the snake-charming performance, the python must be for show while a more "dangerous" snake (a la defanged viper) awaits proper hypnotising in the pot.

@jurv… you may have captured one of the few charm show troupes remaining given the crackdown of stringent wildlife protection laws. did you see any others? (let’s hope not)

i’ll try to hold on to my illusion that the economic viablity of the animals involved in this dying side-show spectacle leads them to being properly cared for.

  4. From the thumbnail I thought this might be a shot from Burning Man. 🙂

  5. Agree….not certain who is more unlucky…the animals or the charmers!

  6. Um… Is that monkey wearing lipstick? Animal testing! For shame!

  7. …can’t help but wonder what they talk about when no one else is around

  8. That’s something you don’t see every day!

  9. More depressing are the India road-side bear shows, with their obviously painful muzzles.
