At the State of Green Business Forum today at UCSF (stuff).

Gavin Newsom gave a good jab at Big Soda: “Dasani and Aquafina are bottled New York tap water. You can get better water from the tap here. I don’t know how they do it, but hats off to their marketing dept.”

“We want to be the EV capital of the world. I’m going to start by putting a spine of electric charging stations up and down the state.”

“States are labs of democracy, but cities are labs of innovation.”

  1. Very cool building. Makes me want to know what’s on the other side.

  2. the conference. =)

I had to feign interest in touring the fitness center across the atrium to get access to the photo perch I wanted. Then I remembered that I had to go on stage!

  3. Bottled water is the biggest lie of the XXI century. Not only is just tap water bottled, but the plastic bottles are one of the worst offenders to the ecosystem… it’s all wrong about it.

    Wonderful view of the building.

  4. I haven’t had a decent glass of water since I left NY, almost a half century ago. I don’t know why, but they do have the best tap water. No water softeners in NYC area. SF water? I don’t think so. (Starting a water fight 😉

    Cool shot, interesting architecture.

  5. Distribution of electricity is one aspect.. (for EV;s..)
Better batteries another…and clean energy is the third.
But If folks will ship bottles of water around instead of using the tap….
    Well……..

  6. interesting view, proportions are cool: large segments with little windows and human element…

hm, we had bottled water (Dasani mostly) for a long time… switched it to basic filter and tap water recently… hope it is not life-threatening:) not sure about chemicals in tap water…

  7. @vennettaj: There’s at least one company doing exactly that: Tap’d NY, which bills itself as the "Anti-Bottled Water Bottled Water"

  8. Hey, all good… sounds like NY tap water is cool, but… what about pollution?
