Golf weddings seem so odd to me. Looks like a Par 3 ceremony, with golf chariot.

Had to add to my wedding crasher collection.

  1. Golf, in general, seems odd to me (that coming from a doctor is pehaps odd too). The courses are beautiful, but there is something about hitting a little white ball as hard as you can and then chasing it that doesn’t appeal to me. Would rather do a dozen different things. Different strokes for different folks (no pun intended)!

  2. To go even further about golf, it is an elitist sport. City kids will never have an opportunity to play unless someone gives them a day on a course for free. Quite sad actually. Also all golf courses do is rip out trees, use enormous amounts of water, a pollute the surrounding areas with huge amounts of phosphate, magnesium and nitrates. So what is the good in the game?

  3. That’s a great collection..
    Love this;

  4. rlee – yeah, same for baseball in America. But beyond the dedicated resource wastage, it probably harms more people indirectly. First there’s the massive waste of human resources across scores of little league fields and TV-watching hours on a non-exercise pastime… There are much better activities for exercise and team building, the ostensible goals. But worse still is the misplaced respect for athlete as heroes, perhaps an atavistic nod to hunting prowess. Imagine if our youth aspired to be like people who actually contribute something to society. =)

  5. I totally agree….we need less "Look mom, $45,000,000 for 6 years" and more,
    "My first wish…is to see the whole world in peace, and the Inhabitants of it as one band of brothers, striving who should contribute most to the happiness of mankind.
    – GEORGE WASHINGTON, 1785"
    I think kids these days forget that sports are a form of entertainment and not a lifestyle, or an easy way to make a living.
    Just sad, whatever happened to attending science class and making Estes rockets to build on and develope future life skills? Although it really didn’t help me opening new avenues, it gave me realistic dreams and skills that carried over into other fields at least. Thanks for the reply.

  6. Strange idea for a wedding, do not like traditional weddings either… dresses are fun though (agree with vennettaj). Although good thing about US that people can do whatever they wish – even zero gravity weddings… the same goes for birthdays, we tried for our daughter swimming, mad science and happy parrots – all was fun, especially very bright and gifted parrots. Oh, interesting wedding crasher collection:)
