We are heading out this weekend out to launch the Epic as a four-motor cluster and this Sledgehammer airframe on a bigger Aerotech M motor. So I thought I‘d leave with the launch from earlier this May.

This is a 9 ft.-tall rocket with wings and a videocam onboard (with a wide-angle lens).

She lept to 350 MPH in 3.5 seconds per the on-board flight computers. Details on the M1500 propellant and more photos below.

And here’s the video with the hearty roar from the ground, and then the view from the rocket.

  1. Mojave Green Propellant, with metal salts added to emit a pure wavelength, like a laser, from the plasma (Barium Chloride in this case, more):

  2. Great video and photos! I must admit that you are wetting my appetite. I have not done this since I was a teen 35 years or so ago. Everything is so much more advanced at this point.
