I had to take a turn off into the woods of Northern Estonia, where nobody would see me, to change into a suit before dinner.

And then the sunset panned through the trees flickering and splashing across the forest floor in slow motion

  1. Kodumaa!

A kaleidoscope sun on the forest floor – always this calls to me. 🙂

  2. This photo remindes me of Paul Cezanne’s Chestnut Trees at Jas de Bouffan, 1885-86. You can see the real thing in the Minneapolis Museum or travel to that secluded place in Estonia.

  3. Superman is not supposed carry a camera and have artistic sensibility!

  4. What would Andrei Tarkovsky do?

  5. heet_myser: Tarkovski’s Stalker was filmed here in Estonia. You can read more here.

  6. This would make a good cover picture for Incredibly Witty Screen Name’s book.

  7. purple trees… magical!

i’m quite amazed by the lack of undergrowth… i guess this is a temperate forest, and the competition for sunlight is clearly won by the trees racing straight up to the energy source.

  8. I didn’t know you were Superman! No phone booth around, huh?
Oh well….you have to do what you have to do, I guess! 🙂
