This photo remindes me of Paul Cezanne’s Chestnut Trees at Jas de Bouffan, 1885-86. You can see the real thing in the Minneapolis Museum or travel to that secluded place in Estonia.
i’m quite amazed by the lack of undergrowth… i guess this is a temperate forest, and the competition for sunlight is clearly won by the trees racing straight up to the energy source.
