and the extreme perspective afforded by a fish-eye lens.

I just got to see the drawing up close today. I had not fully appreciated how the shadows are made of tiny cross-hatched lines which cover the entire page.

  1. Love the extremely foreshortened body in the back. To me it feels like this drawing should be one in a series. Pity that the link you put is for friends and family only…

  2. David – prescient you are. It is part of a series. Sorry about the link – her photo looks like it’s public. If you see a flickr warning, that’s flickr’s automatic warning about racy content… but you should still be able to click through, yes? If not, here are a couple from the series:

Seems like I have become a collector of rebekka artifacts…

    Ceci n'est pas Photoshop

Will have to donate them to the Guggenheim one day… =)

  3. Full res versions on her personal website:

ps: pray tell: did you purchase the drawing(s)…or are you in iceland?

pps: rebekka: if you haven’t already, please contact Sigur Ros and work with them on a video (shoot with new 5D MkII) …. Your sensibility matches their music just about perfectly. could be breathtaking…

pps: hint to artist: the technique of cross hatching would translate well to copper plate engraving yielding numbered "editions" with more favorable economics…

  4. Yes… the one drawing here… I just love it…. Thinking of a good frame now…

  5. im glad you appreciate my cross-hatching patience steve… took forever to complete the seemingly "empty" area ๐Ÿ˜‰

btw, how about you just make one of those "rebekka"s link directly to my flickr page ๐Ÿ˜‰
i have no idea why something would show up as not public, i don’t have anything marked as "friends" or "friends and family" on there…

  6. I added another link. I think the problem is just that flickr has your photos flagged as "adult content" (it looks public to me).

The drawing is getting framed with a very cool black wood and leather frame with a similar cross-hatch texture. Should be sweet. Eve will have a matching frame too.

  7. sounds great:)

haha. "adult content" . oh dear.. such prudes..

  8. Yes, it shows up correctly now, with no warnings. Rebekka, they are all wonderful… ๐Ÿ™‚
