My Brighthawk rocket paid a visit to Le Petit Prince.

This is a frame grab from the rocket’s videocam. Know how I engaged the Warp Drive?

  1. It is the time you have spent with your rose that makes your rose so important.

  2. Warp effect: accidental streak camera?
    video frame grab
    progressive readout
rapid pitch or roll of the rocket during the frame acquisition

  3. nhr – heh, at least I got the tag right… thanks.

Bingo P^2: I’ll post the video soon, but you are spot on. It was a hyper roll return to Earth. Lacking a shutter, the raster frame readout suffers from motion effect. I am used to seeing angular shifts (in passing vehicles), but not rotary.

Heresy ! We have a genetically-given right to flit from rose to rose to check which one provides the best fit 😉

  5. Cool. And a naive first approximation would estimate about a 90 degree roll in a (presumed) 33 ms frame period, for a 450 rpm spiral. With that kind of gyrostabilization going on, I can’t imaging there’s much pitch happening.

  6. just a brillant picture
