Obama gave a spectacular speech, one that may echo throughout history as a pivotal moment in the political process.

“Change will not come from Washington. Change will come to Washington.”

Edit: video of the full speech is now available

  1. That is one heck of a camera to be able to come up with that shot undwer those conditions! Do I read it right that this was a 4 second exposure? And I assume you were hand-holding? I’m not sure I could hold anything that still for so long…

  2. you have to hand it to the democrats…they sure know how to party!

  3. thanks.

nels1 – heh, the RNC will have a grand old party – their musical lineup: Sammy Hagar, Beach Boys, Styx and Charlie Daniel’s Band. I kid you not. =)

I learned that my photos are now in a slideshow at the Huffington Post:

  4. wow…very cool photo essay!

as for the RNC, i was cringing as i watched young cheerleaders try to pump the crowd while they waited for an embarrassingly late mccain to arrive after being held up in traffic. well, it got even worse when he finally did get there 😛 …

  5. Awesome shot! I’m getting a panic attack from here! 😉

Seen on your photo stream. (?)

  6. And Michelle Obama was visibly startled when the first firework cannon popped.

One item not caught on any video is the feel of the stadium rumbling from feet stomping in synchrony…

  7. Don’t get your hopes up too high people, he hasn’t taken office yet.
With this dwindling economy going on down the tubes I don’t think he’ll able to accomplish much of anything.
Did you know he lived for a good while growing up in Hawaii?
He’s out of touch with most blacks of today’s generation.
    GOD HELP US ALL!!
