On stage now.

The line to get in wraps around the stadium and loops all over the place and up and over the river… at least a 2 hour wait in the sun for 84,000 people

  1. Sheryl Crow singing now, with a modification to the lyrical refrain:
"a change would do us good"

  2. Al Gore on now:
"We must seize this opportunity for a change.

Today we face the same choice as 2000, but it may be more obvious now. McCain will continue the failed policies of the Bush Administration.

I believe in recycling but that’s ridiculous.

Why did McCain reverse his position on global warming?

The oil companies have a 50 year lease on the Republican Party and they are drilling it for everything they can."

He compared Obama’s experience to that of Abraham Lincoln as each first ran for President.

  3. Hillary Clinton just sat down 3 seats directly behind me… Madeline Albright too. Suddenly everyone around me has a cell phone camera…

  4. cool! such a personal witnessing that can happen today with camera phones. perfect match with an open air open political event.

  5. I love this Yes We Can song. It’s a really good way to remember a speech. Love your shot. Great colors on stage.

Seen on your photo stream. (?)

  6. I like how you have better seats then all of them

  7. I just spent a couple awesome hours with will.i.am and he is an incredible talent. Here’s a photo & impromptu trio as he kept weaving lines from the Riskmaster into the dialog… “That song is in my head.”

At the DNC, he found himself crying backstage, something that had never happened for him before. So he called his mom. It was very moving for him to imagine being on the floor of the DNC… when not too many years ago, he was a child in the ghetto, grateful for bussing programs that sent him to a good school.

When asked what it was like: “Do you remember the last day of school? You just can’t describe it, other than to say it was the last day of school. What does Christmas feel like? It defies description or analogy. So, playing at the DNC was just that. I can’t describe what it was like.” It’s dope. Oh, well, you know dope is bad. It was super duper.”

“the 1,4,5 guitar pattern in Yes We Can is the same as Redemption Song and Blackbird. So it’s familiar to people.”

“The song took 3 days to produce, 2 to record vocals and video and one to edit.”

The DNC asked him to take the celebrities out of his videos, in response to the McCain attacks.

And his latest video project will air next week on Larry King. It’s another impressively creative act…

Parting words: “Please don’t let McCain use the Riskmaster song.” Nice!
