gotta scoot over to the DNC, and then a hop over to LDRS… two crazy-crowd events…

  1. No yoke? Just a small joystick in an asymmetrical layout. Interesting.

  2. Like a great big Cirrus

  3. A 2 meter rat? I’d get out of it’s way

  4. LDRS http://www.ldrs27.org/ is probably more important then DNC

  5. A 2 meter rat? I’d get out of it’s way

They don’t look that big from the cockpit of a T-16, believe me.

  6. from the thumbnail, i was hoping for a photo from the cockpit of the Space Shuttle 🙂
still good to see the clean control panels in an A320!

  7. Hey Steve:

Who’s A320 is this? This looks like a private version, and you clearly are on the Taxiway. FAA regs would no way let you into the cockpit while out of the gate, and I don;t see a gate anywhere. Were you parked in a holding pattern and the pilots opened up the cockpit?

    This is an unusual photo.

  8. I also noted the state of the art FLSA flight management system used for emergency back-up redundancy. I have seen this used often on approach to Hong Kong. Perhaps you were on one of those flights and wondered what the pilots were doing? (Fly Low See Airport). I will send you some really scary shots from cross wind landings a friend sent me from Hong Kong.
That approach is nuts with the cross wind and the city buildings!

  9. Wait a minute. This is a photograph from a simulator! I remember your camera from the photos you took of our rockets. I just looked at the full size closely and the VORTACH radials don;t make sense, and if you look at the glass on the instrument panel, you can see the reflection of the people standing behind you and the rest of the simulator structural support members. I also noted that the horizon lines in the windshield are not coincident.

Now I am really intrigued. Where did you take this photo? An air show? At the AirBus factory or museum?

Sorry, I am an ex-pilot (No longer current.) so am always intrigued by anything that goes into the air. Please, please, do tell……

  10. rocketmavericks: Dude, read the tags.

  11. These planes terrify me. Give me a 747 any day of the week.

  12. rocketmavericks: Keep ignoring the tags! I’m loving reading your thoughts as a kind of commentary, and now I’m really interested to see the Hong Kong crosswind photos… are they online anywhere?

  13. where’s the wheel/stick?
