Are they building these in Hethel? In which case, did you get to take an Elise out on the test track?? It’s a great experience.
So what engine sound(s) will you employ?
On a related note (get it, "note"), I read somewhere that blind pedestrians have a difficult time detecting electric cars. I wonder if sounds may be required.
I’d switch to an electric car if there was the infrastructure for it, but recharging is a problem if you live in a downtown apartment …

ooh.. that video still gives me the willies. =)
The ones with that other guy on stage are easy to figure out… but I’m not so sure how he did mine. I wonder if he had a magnetic sensor in his sleeve? It’s also interesting that he makes a point to get a male volunteer. I wonder if the audience reaction differs by the gender of the "victim"? Or are women more likely to bail and not take a risk like that?

As for the car, I think it’s on a boat to California soon.
That video had me on the edge of my seat. Thanks for linking it here, j_silla. Steve, he had a watch on his left wrist. Perhaps there was a detector in it and the spike had a transponder like an RFID chip?
It sure in fun to go to "the nursery".. but congrats alos on the dealership opening on ECR in Menlo Park. Glad to see some life back in that part of the street and with such a gree purpose…. btw, I went to a Solar City Q&A at the Stanford Park Hotel next door… hoping to get the site survey completed soon. this is an amazing car, and I am impressed by your willingness to share your experiences with everyone on this site.
I wonder if you would mind if I ask a few questions…
Do you know yet when the delivery date is for your car?
Is the colour of your car one of the standard Tesla colours (Racing Green?), or is it a custom paint colour only available for the Founder’s Series?
Will your car arrive with the 2 speed transmission, or with the newer drivetrain 1.5?
