During BBC filming at TED, which will air in a few months.

After a hilarious impromptu performance from Robin Williams during “technical difficulties” (imagine a Scottish accent bellowing out from the back row as if it were the BBC crew struggling to get the satellite feed working), Forest Whitaker was cold called from the Ugandan panelist on stage to talk about his experiences in Uganda during the filming of The Last King of Scotland. Larry and Pierre’s companies also took a couple passing jibes from Robin Williams.

P.S. They just posted the video of a short talk I gave on the joy of rockets…

  1. great talk! the last shot taken from space was inspiring…

(The Last King of Scotland should’ve won for Best Film as well imho)

  2. Have an EXELANT TED Steve. Just saw you TedTalk .Fast as a rocket ; )
About Forest Whitaker. One of the best movie i have seen is : Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai A must see !

  3. I’m at work now, but I can’t wait to get home to watch your video.

BTW… have a happy birthday tomorrow!

  4. Great talk, Steve. Concise & to the point, while entertaining as well! nels1 is right, the final image was amazing.

  5. The Last King of Scotland – haven’t seen it but $11m budget film to gross $17m just in GBO is very good. Idi Amin must of been some character to play, I wonder what he said about it. Robin Williams and a lot of other moguls are there :)…, would it not be fun to be in business with some of them. Films change the world, I’m sure 🙂 Is this Google guru the same Larry Page, who exec produced Broken Arrows last year? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0447879/fullcredits
Someone should take the advantage of this flick ready for production http://www.hot.ee/draakonitapja/ see the english link there – major gross and great show, but perhaps seams too good to be true, nothing I can do about it

  6. I saw your rocket video; such joy… congratulations! (and what a great venue)

  7. I just watched your video and found your talk, fun, fast-paced, funny and a perfect summery of all that you have so far made us discover about your world on the weekends. It was amusing to hear people laugh and be in awe of all those images that we already know well here.

  8. Hey, way to represent the hobby!

  9. i wish i had heard Robin Williams doing that Scottish accent routine… i bet it was deeply hammed up and nothing at all like any real Scottish accent = even funnier 🙂

  10. and a cross-view…. cameras everywhere!
