What is of greater importance, the mountain or the Husky? I say from this perspective, the Husky is master of this incredible scene!
Excellent capture!!!
The sun was certainly in your back for the sky to be this pale pink but was it taken at sunrise or sunset? -
Almost each day since many years, I often see the sky getting a pale pink in the East (horizon between North and West) whether or not the sunset in the West is anything special. Opposite is true for sunrise.
All the amazing shows last for barely a few minutes. It is important to catch them as you did here.

The way the closer dog has the larger mountain aligned behind him, and the dog further away in perspective has the smaller mountain also aligned is fantastic – the landscape mirroring their position, or vice versa. The lights and overall tone are great. Even the negative space – although it (the negative space) feels slightly heavy in the foreground – arguably negated by being broken up by the texture of the ground.
Such a great shot and not one of those things even gets to the subject where you have the snow dogs in the desert.
Yeah, I love this shot, I can’t say it enough. -
beautiful composition and colors!!
looks like a wonderful ending to a perfect day.

Metabolisms are variable, as is the thickness of the blood, two of the things that would be impacted by any climate change. It would only really be cruel if the dogs were recently brought in from somewhere consistently cold as they would not have had a chance to adapt yet (in humans it can take up to 3 weeks, not sure off the top of my head what the figure is for dogs). Other than that, Huskies have no more issues in the heat than any other dog (that said their fur has been bred for increased insulation, so they are at a disadvantage to something like a Chihuahua in that respect, but no more than say a Newfoundland).
Considering that a hot dog would have its mouth wide open and its tongue lolling out, and were it comfortable in its surroundings would roll over with its legs apart… I don’t see these dogs looking too hot there.
The owner could always have them shaved down if they really were worried.
My uncle has had a few Huskies in Florida and I can recall the first time one of them saw snow (in Virginia), it reminded me of that scene early in The Jerk where Steve Martin says "I’ve never heard music like this before! It speaks to me!" The Husky seemed to be awakened to its genetics upon seeing the snow.

Very cool shot, they look so out of place but I’m sure they know what the y’re doing.

Fantastic shot. I really like the tone of the shot. The dogs look great as does the cracked earth beneath them. Wonderful photo!

@nhr, read the first comments to know when the shot was taken.
(edit: I say this to be helpful) -
Dog1: -Hey pete, shouldn´t there be snow where we are?
Dog2: -Blame it to global warming, tom.
Dog1: -wow, that thing is spreading fast… dammit.
Dog2: dammit. -

The pastel sky, the mountain on the horizon, the vast cracked ground, and those two wonderful huskies. You captured it all so perfectly. Wonderful work!

I’m the owner of the Huskies in the photo. In response to the comments about the dogs and the desert, they live at elevation 7000′ in the Sierras and of course they would be happier in a blizzard, but they would be mighty unhappy if they knew they had to stay at home while their dad was out on an adventure, no matter what the conditions were. They do just fine on hot days with shade, water and minimal activity.
