Making the rounds today. Here he is taking the floor from Steve Kirsch (Infoseek founder & activist).

Some of Edwards’ comments:

I would stop the illegal spying on American people that George Bush has been doing. In foreign diplomacy, I would be less selfish and more respectful to others.

With Iraq, the starting point is honesty. It is impossible to predict what will happen. The problem is that we think our troops are a source of security. That is an impossible task.

If we do what we need to do, we can wean bad leaders from the drug of oil. If we lead our country to cellulosic biofuels, then they will have no choice but to develop economically and educate their kids. Dubai may be criticized, but it is better than other parts of the Middle East.

The path to citizenship is too difficult. Immigration is a very divisive issue among Democrats. I see it as a moral issue. We are a nation of immigrants. Do we want a nation of first class citizens and second class laborers? You have to be that direct for people to understand the issue.

There is a domino effect from American leadership. If we shift to biofuels, economic opportunities shift to Africa. We could lift millions out of poverty. We could create one million “green collar” jobs in America, and our leadership can affect poverty in the third world.
