When I sat down across from Les Vadasz yesterday, I noticed something different — his first Mac. As an Intel co-founder (badge #3), he was the design manager for the world’s first DRAM, EPROM and microprocessor.

I had to ask, with a bit of a snicker: “So, did you finally get to buy the computer you’ve always dreamed of having, now that there’s Intel inside?”

Les: “You’re god damn right!”

  2. ha ha! excellent 🙂

  3. I believe in his hand he has the two prong adapter that slides onto the powerbook power adapter.

  4. That’s brilliant!

I work for a company that buys several thousand Dell PCs each year. I’m due for a new laptop this spring; I wonder if I can convince the powers-that-be to let me get a MacBook Pro?

  5. I agree with mightyb – the thing in his hand looks like the little nub you can stick on a PowerBook/MacBook adapter if you want to shorten the cable length.

  6. I agree with mightyb and dylanneild. I like to call it the little "duck head" plug. 😉

  7. actually that’s what Apple calls them in it’s parts list, duck heads…

  8. I’m god damn right, too. At least I think I am.

  9. pretty sure that’s on the mbp, too.

  10. There’s only ONE catch… is he running MAC OS X or WindozeVistula?
(can somebody tell from the reflection on his spectacles?!? 😉 I’d be THAT much MORE impressed if he’s actually using Apple software along with the yummy hardware……..?

  11. this should be standard for folks retiring from Microsoft or Intel

  12. He’s running DRMintosh with DRM O$X, i believe.
