Hard one!
It "looks" like a huge electronic eye.
I want it to be a modern magic ball to pear into my future.
well for your position seems it´s something on the floor?
btw, didn´t make you a ultra-shabby-jeans guy… neat.
(if those are your legs(?))
glass cutter? i mean the suction cup part…but…i’ve never seen one clear. Oh, I guess I’ve never really seen a glass replacement/cutter either up close..Nevermind…nice interesting shot! 😀
apparently camera + waterproof case in a pond? Now, what’s it got to do with that structure behind you?
Is it possible that there’s so much reflection because whatever (curved ?) glass element that is photographed separates a dark container from the (reflected) bright surroundings ?
I’m imagining this is what a wide-angle lens, sitting behind a underwater housing’s protective glass dome, would look like on a pebbly beach…
Bingo noctilux + Leino88 except that there is no waterproof dome… the lens itself has all of the reflective elements.
This is looking into the eye of a primitive 8mm f/3.5 circular 180° fish-eye lens. This Peleng lens is produced at the Belomo optical factory in Minsk, Belarus, and it took 2 months to arrive from a factory order. It has the look and feel of used military equipment.
I looked online, and the manufacturer proudly claims to be “the leading producer among former USSR countries of optical systems for armoured vehicles”
The colors come from the multicoated anti-reflection optics.
I don’t know what the h*ll this is, but it’s a very intreguing shot! Interesting…

Seen at The World Through My Eyes
heh…. a fine challenge! How about a spook camera from the PNNL gov’t labs that can see through walls… and clothes?
This image of my back
was derived from
The photo on the left was taken by a millimeter wave Holographic Body Scanner. Clothes and hair are invisible to waves in this frequency range. Imagine a huge, 7 foot tall flatbed scanner, but instead of light, it has an array of ultrawideband transmitters and two detectors (like two bat ears) to pick up the reflections and scatter off the water in skin. From two source images, like the one on the right, the computer can reconstruct a holographic 3D image of my body.
It is now commercialized to be used as a safe alternative to X-ray scanners at security checkpoints to spot guns, knives, etc. even if they are plastic or ceramic.
That´s why you are so successful: you see the glass half-full, or if you are not sure, that´s your guess. One great mental pattern ‘mong the many other.
(I still get distracted with the shabby jeans… awesome view of a peeking knee) 😀
