  1. A curious little building.

    Why the algae tag?

  2. that’s furry red algae enveloping the white building… with a spinning light of alarm on top

  3. Interesting… what a highly specialized alarm. "LOOK OUT, I’M COVERED IN RED ALGAE!!!"

  4. Nice….from Myst to Mist in only 4 days.

Maybe the alarm light knows something we don’t.

RED RooM –> MooRDER. Killer cows? ๐Ÿ˜‰

  5. In the original size view, I see that the house is soft to the touch in red. The place may be old but it is still functional as the light continues to guide seafarers.

What a fabulous place to visit so close to the city!
    Point Reyes

There is beach behind the mist

    MooRDER LOL!! :D…

  8. ahem…. well, a bit further down the coast, there are some wonderful WW II artillery ruins set into the sea-side cliffs.

Leino and I visited them when a dramatic fog blew over the path clinging to the craggy cliffs (much like Point Reyes above).

We were in a bit of a rush because we parked on the side of Hwy 1, in a not-so-legal spot.

When we got back to the car, I had a fun and invigorating encounter with a lovely cop who pointed out the no trespassing sign with her billy club.

She said, in a most authoritative way, "If I ever see you here again, I’m going to ream your ass."

It took all my self restraint not to make a witty retort to this fine overture….

And now, whenever I return to Reamer’s Point, I keep a look out, with a certain longing, for my special friend…

    Hi Victor

  9. You go girl!

  10. I saw on televison a few days ago that the first ever built lighthouse, the Boston Light on Little Brewster Island, now a protected site, is the only manned lightnouse in the U.S. today.

Now, I just read that all other lightouses are automated. When people live in the buildings, they do not turn on and off the light, they only live there and sometimes are the caretakers.

  11. so.. heating and close.. thank you..)
