Puzzle Series: What is this, or what do you want it to be?

  1. I will never guess!

It is not a window or a glass because there is a reflection of the knob as with a mirror. Some kind of reflector in an old camera. The prism is like what we see in a mirror at times.

I want it to be the window of the front door of my new home!

    edit:
yes of course, I cannot help it. It is in my curious nature
Yes I do have a knack for this…!

  2. No guesses? Then what do you want it to be? The eye of the beholder can be purely aspirational…

edit: so you are guessing now… =) and you have a knack for this…

  3. I see a door in the dark part of the picture on the left.
There must be a stained glass window that is reflected in the mirror.
It could be a church window.

  4. To me is a very small thing, like a closeup of the viewfinder of a camera. As well… I thought it could be maybe a bigger thing (hand size) and that you had gone to the movies and had been able to take a closeup picture from beside of the projector at work.

So then I have to think of the movie too…! For me the movie could have been: Ice Age 2. =D

  5. Guess: inside of an oven, or a heating furnace.

Wish: When I look at it, something whispers "Close encounters of the third kind".

  6. Optical sensor of some sort

  7. Bingo Benjiman. Are you a new winner?

Mimosa and Alieness sensed the big picture – it’s inside a camera.

This is a photo into the barrel of the Canon 5D during a sensor clean.

The mirror flips out of the way to revel the colorful gem within – the 12.8 Megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor that electronically captures the image. It is HUGE compared to the 3MP and 5MP versions I have removed from other cameras:
    Silicon Eye

It also has a low pass filter integrated into the cover glass, so I don’t know if the rainbow is diffraction from the filter or the underlying sensors.

  8. We were quick!

Mirror, reflection, reflector, camera, prism, hum, I was close enough, considering that I started out the first second saying I’ll never guess. I am happy.

    Do we get a marking?

  9. Mark me as late to the show again… 🙁

    Congrats, Benjiman!

  10. Congrats Benjiman!

J, are you already disassembling your cannon?! It doesn´t even had 5 months with you… little time for a lady (and such a lady) to feel comfortable, you know, doing exhibitionism over the table! 😛

  11. I would like to thank the Academy… 😉

So what are you using to clean that big mofo? I’m gearing up for my own DSLR purchase soon (D200 maybe?) and wonder a lot about the delicate cleaning rituals involved…

  12. Ben: Don’t take advice from me… I held it upside down and blew up into the opening with my mouth… I need to get a dry air blower of some sort…

Alieness: no disassembly yet… but yes, a disrobing made her blush…

Mimosa: a puzzling mark perhaps in the international hall of fame…

  13. Ah, if working on the puzzles is what we have to do to be famous in Flickr…! LOL International, that is quite true.

  14. Ahh, a full frame slr, that’s what we all should be using (envy!!)

  15. I want it to be in my hot little hands.
    Full-frame is teh r0x0r.
I am jealous of the 5D. I thought about a full-frame EOS instead of the 30D since I just upgraded, but then I would have to get a new favorite lens — the 10-22 I’ve been rocking with won’t fit.
