This should be fun…

At 3449 pieces, it’s the largest LEGO set ever!

  1. The best thing is, it’s fully functional! [Puny rebel base not included.] What to test it on, what to test it on….

  2. Sweeeet!!! I want one.

  3. Lego Box: "Piece 3450 not included. It´s you!"

    These guys have everything calculated…

  4. flickr used to be crack…;)

  5. lol..why am I not surprised! I wonder what the crew will look like

  6. wait..is it a finished Death Star? Or is it exactly as unfinished as the movie?

something very appealing about a model of something under construction.

  7. keshi: I imagine when it’s built it looks a lot like the photo on the front of the box? 🙂

  8. =] good point rooreyolds.

I just thought there was something funny about choosing to freeze the Death Stars’ construction at that precise moment, when if the Emperor had had the chance he’d have finished it.

  9. wait! Maybe the Emperor is behind all this, and contracted Lego to make this puzzle and eventually find free skilled constructors to finish his station… !

What if once you finish the -unfinished- game successfully you are abducted?

  10. Good Lord, that must have cost about $100. I’ve got 3 half-gallon ice cream buckets of Legos back home in Iowa from when I was a kid. When I pass through a toy store these days (rare), I’m always shocked at how expensive Lego sets are.

The whole idea of a Lego set depicting something that is unfinished is fantastic. 🙂

Someone w/ too much time on their hands ought to do the same thing with the Freedom Tower here in NYC. As the real thing goes up, he/she snaps a pic of their own under-construction Lego model of it, and post it. (I.e., this would make the lucky individual just as active in the real building process as poor Daniel Libeskind will be!)

  11. How’s construction on the old Death Star going… almost operational?

  12. construction is underway. we have the core reactor and half of the outer rim done.

    Sol1: the crew are happy little stormtroopers, gesturing like the Village People: L – E – G – O

  13. I find your lack of faith disturbing ; )

  14. With a few hundred more pieces, perhaps you could also use this kit to make a Lego Borg Cube.
