Steve Jurvetson
When I was at Apple, I disassembled Compaq notebooks to see if they had done anything clever, and to estimate their manufacturing cost.
It was a fun job. =)
You make it look easy! J
Ugh, suddenly escaping to flickr began to resemble the work I was trying to escape! Thank goodness it’s temporary.
That must have been a tough job considering that Apple is the source of most things clever. It would have been much easier to be a reverse engineer at Compaq trying to log all the clever things in Apple portables.
heh, heh, heh…. well, we were surprised to see that Compaq used double-sided tape to hold some parts together inside the Aero subnotebook.
We did a lot of that @ our college despite the brand.. It is fun 4 me.. =)
What other interestings finds did you make Steve?
