The Packard Estate (of HP) maintains the orchards that preceded the silicon in Silicon Valley. The fog was dense while mountain biking today.

I had lunch with Bill and Dave on my first day of work at HP. Gestures like that leave a lasting impression.

  1. The great French Marshall Lyautey once asked his gardener to plant a tree. The gardener objected that the tree was slow growing and would not reach maturity for 100 years. The Marshall replied, ‘In that case, there is no time to lose; plant it this afternoon!’ John F. Kennedy

He who planted those orchards, he who thought of developing the area near Standford -S. V.-, H and P moving to it -long ago- and having lunch with you in your first day of work… They all share the same thoughtful vision: "we are making the future".

  2. Beautiful scenery. It is wonderful that they maintain the orchards.
