When you get a new chain, you can dip in in parrafin, and won’t need to oil it. No oil, less dust accumulation on it. I have a silver-colored chain on my racing bike, you can grab it with your hand and not have a trace of black goo on your hands as you normally would. Old racer’s trick: parrafin is a natural lubricant, ideal for a chain because it’s not really spinning parts but limited motion in the links (as compared to wheel bearings for example). You just set up a bain-marie, and dunk your chain in it, then reassemble. The SRAM chains have an easy assembly-removal link to make maintenance a few times a year easy, and they shift better too.
