I like Vanita’s answer, what it is, I don’t know. What it looks like to me, is some kind of vascular blueprint. But I don’t know how much sense that makes since some of the "veins" end. And they’d just go on woudn’t they… In conclusion: I’ll get back to you. Need clues! Where’s Alieness??
Partial credit to Old Cola (with a strange echo from the Georgians). It is part of a leaf, and it shows some detail, but most of the leaf is missing. OldC is fast – getting in under an hour….
iv0 is spot on. It is a vascular blueprint of veins.
It is a maple leaf, etched with some leftover equipment from the semiconductor industry. The bulk of the leaf mass is delicately removed, leaving the network of veins.
Here is the bigger picture.
I like Vanita’s answer the most…. A bit of an urban planner’s nightmare, if you look at it in that light. Isn’t Houston famous for its historical lack of zoning, leading to some random development?
Even if I only give OldCola partial credit for some of his answers, the French have now have a lead in the puzzle Olympics, with Puerto Rico in second, and Argentina, Canada, and the U.K. tied for third. =)
