Here’s my shot from a different spot. It wasn’t nearly as ‘glowly’ when we were there, but I think that is a function of the angle of the sun and local atmospheric conditions. I have seen water as colorful as this though, in the pools of a basalt-rich river off the Colorado in the Grand Canyon.
I could drink a case of (that) and still be on my feet. You said it, George.
great photo! Part of–near my–most favorite place on Earth…up and down the Icefields Parkway.
spectacular photo!
I’ve seen spots like that on high alpine lakes in BC – on Garibaldi Lake from Panorama Ridge, for example.
A most splendid effect.
Yeah, the spectacular color is pretty common in silty lakes in BC. Gorgeous.
I have to admit, the yellow larch trees caught my eye – but the lake sure is very spectacular
Wow. Love the comments. Thanks to all of your collective input, flickr has decided that this photo has “interestingness” =)
Aitah!
What a beautiful scene, the lake is a gorgeous contrast to the surrounding landscape.

The World Through My Eyes
I just LOVE Moraine Lake. It’s amazing. Very nice. It’s not a typical shot of Maraine Lake. Good one.
Very nice! I would guess that the water has floating silt particles that reflect the sunlight. The darker areas of water are probably in the shadows of clouds.

This is beautiful picture of the Moraine Lake. I especially like the angle from the picture was taken.
By the way, the glowing in the Moraine Lake, gives it an unreal yet very attractive look. http://www.ruelspot.com/
