E-mail, Hotmail, Internet. There is a nice redundancy there… This photo was sent to me from rural Vietnam.

  1. ‘Hotmail’… ‘hotmail’? Jesus, the name sounds so familiar, but I can´t remember what was it…

    😉

How incredible that this photo didn´t get any comment in all this time, right? I wonder what may be the meaning of the store´s name "quoc thai"…

I was also wondering about the analogy between the vietnamese militar strategy -tunnel webs- and the ontology of the Internet… How could the former be a concrete example of the theoretical indestructibility of the last?

  2. very creative association!

  3. I came back here because I remembered this conversation while reading now the online newspaper on the war in Lebanon… beyond comments on how unfortunate all this is =( , I wanted to share this:

I am reading that one of the greatest difficulties for the israeli troops is that the hezbollah army has set up a net of underground tunnels and bunkers. What impressed me is that no-one is making the connection between this and Vietnam… (which would lead to seriously think what can be the outcome of trying to fight against them under this conditions).

    =(

Quoc Thai is very likely the name of the store owner, which is a very popular way of naming in VN.
I’m sure I get all the meaning of your analogy between VNs army & internet ?!
