  1. Yow! Man look at those biceps…that’d be a tough fight with him and us in the woods…

  2. Although those freak me a lot, I admire their beauty.

  3. Me too!

    I saw him as well…and I don’t think fighting back would help…

  4. Nice shot! They frequent all the best trails in the Bay Area. I just received this today (4/23):

    4. TAMARANCHO TRAIL NEWS- Mountain Lion

According to Michael Dybeck, Marin Boy Scout executive, there was a sighting of a mountain lion, by camp ranger Dana, at Camp Tamarancho, and he asked that we inform Friends of Tamarancho members about this.

(Editor’s note: While there have been some recent attacks of mountain lions, in California, there has not been an attack, IN THE BAY AREA, in 100 years.)

He suggested that riders not cycle alone between dusk and dawn. (Also don’t attach antlers to your helmet.)

  5. What is that underneath him? Looks almost like a leash.

  6. Yes, it is. You wouldn’t want kitty running around… with the leash laws as they are…

This was part of an Earth Day Celebration, with a ton of kids getting to see big cats up close.

  7. Oh, I thought maybe it was in your yard! Lol. Mountain lions can be a problem in urban areas sometimes.

  8. Wonderful shot of this beautiful animal!

  10. Just a crop of the head?

Your comment got me thinking, and I cropped this one a bit more. I originally thought the crouch under the folding table was surreal, but it was also a bit distracting.

If you like the face, you can super-size this one as there are a lot of pixels…

  11. Great to see a puma, a pity to see it captive.

  17. Steve, that is Shoshone – a female. She is pulling hard on the leash because I have just shown her the chicken drumstick she will get for going back to the car after the Earth Day program you were watching.
